In the showroom and lobby of the medical technology company Edan Instruments in Shenzhen, the company’s vision is reaslised. Under the creative theme ‘Organic Meets Precision’, an interactive experience has been created that conveys complex technologies in a clear and accessible way.

 

The challenge

To bring Edan Instruments’ core values and brand identity to life in a physical space. At the same time, the aim was to create a functional space that conveys the company’s complex medical product portfolio in a clear and interactive way.

 

Our approach

A tense interplay between organic and precise forms translates the brand’s human and technological dimensions into the space. In the lobby, a highly symbolic sculpture creates an emotional brand experience, whilst in the showroom a modular ‘marketplace principle’ facilitates practical knowledge transfer.

ORGANIC MEETS PRECISION

This creative theme translates Edan Instruments’ brand identity into a tangible spatial concept at the interface between people and technology. While organically rounded shapes represent people, right angles symbolise technical precision. This contrast defines the entire visual identity: from the displays in the ‘Product Area’ to the iconic staff sculpture in the lobby. The ‘Spirit Sculpture’, with its form derived from the Edan logo and comprising over 2,000 leaves, embodies the dedicated team and the brand’s potential for growth.

EDAN is a state-of-the-art company with a strong commitment to aesthetics.

A showroom for its outstanding products, which underscores the company’s philosophy and its brand. In the lobby stands the ‘Spirit Sculpture’, which pays tribute to the international team.

The project was developed in close collaboration with EDAN’s design department.

Thank you for the fruitful dialogue, including onforms, colours and the interplay between Far Eastern and Western typography and signage.‘

MARKETPLACE CONCEPT

The ‘Product Area’ follows an open, modular concept modelled on a modern marketplace. This structure provides a clear overview of the portfolio. Large-format photographs of patients emphasise the focus on people – ‘The Human Condition’. A coherent wayfinding and information system, comprising text and the respective colours of the product groups, guides visitors intuitively through the five areas, from ultra sound imaging to patient monitoring.

INTERACTIVE PRODUCT EXPERIENCES

Targeted hands-on experiences and digital interactions bring the technologies to life. For example, ultrasound imaging can be explored interactively using gesture control and body mapping, or explored in greater depth in a realistic demo room.

Patient monitoring becomes tangible via an interactive table where visitors can connect Edan modules via plug-and-play and view the results directly on a screen.
